PP Day 3

In the morning, we all completed our shopping expedition with zest! Balik hotel, repacked, checked out, we then leave to makan lunch yang sedap. We all ordered different food and of course the pinggans went flying around the table. The braised beef soup and bread (local dish) was worth ordering, different and sedap...The trip was definitely a trip to remember as to round it up, while writing this, the eight of us are at the Phnom Penh airport, waiting for our rescue plane from KL..we were supposed to fly out @ 4.35pm, now it's 8.24pm. However, we are still glad we are on the ground because one of the passengers said, the plane tadi, ada problem nak keluarkan tayar...

I personally feel that being with the girls made this trip much more enjoyable and meaningful. Alhamdulillah, we had a safe journey and had a very obliging young, charming, cute, SINGLE man as our driver cum guide. Siap angkatkan our shopping bags lagi.

For Tatee, Mala, Ije, Nini, Yati, Bad, Kus and Fid, it was a memorable trip indeed. Gelak tak kering gusi :)

P/S. Mungkin tak lama lagi ada rombongan meminang ke Phnom Penh kot...he he

Final note: Thank you Maria for giving us updates on our rescue plane. We left Phnom Penh 10.40pm, arrived safely in LCCT at 1.40pm. Dalam plane, orang lain dah melepek, Ije sorang je yang penuh tenaga, encouraging us to order makan. Nasi lemak tasted good and for the first time, Fid habis makan dulu and licin! ;)

PP Day 2

We met our driver Younes (pronounced as Yu-nus), a 25 yr old bujang...itu awal2 sudah ditanya Bad/Ije. We went to S21 Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. Very depressing and incomprehensible...Younes dad, who is currently the Imam of Masjid Dubai and Phnom Penh, was once detained in a similar interrogation camp in Kampong Cham. He was the only survivor out of 200.

After the dose of S21 and Khmer Rouge history, we decided to skip the Killing Fields. The photos of the victims were haunting enough...men, women and children...

We drove pass Wat Phnom, jenguk keluar mpv je and then went to Russian market. You could see Nini, Yati, Mala, Ije, Kus and Bad's eyes gleaming with anticipation!! Here, the real serious action began .. :) While waiting for the rest, Fid and I managed to taste the local coffee and makan our tuna sandwich, made lovingly by Bad and Kus :) Oh, Mala minta sikit my kopi. Her one srrup, habis half of my iced kopi. Nasib baik, makcik gerai tu bagi lebih half a cup..he he

Lunch, we ate at City Cats. The food sedap...After lunch, we went back to Holiday Villa to solat & freshen up. We bought some sweets, jelly & biscuits for the children before visiting a nearby fishing village. Ada yang menangis tengok betapa daifnya keadaan hidup of the 100+ families, who are also muslims...they live in stilt houses beside the river with no running water or electricity. Their masjid where the kids belajar mengaji etc is a bot kayu...

The visit to the Central Market was more subdued...ending with the rain...ada la orang tu dapat merasa pakai baju hujan yg beli kat 100 yen shop kat Tokyo...he he. Feeling that we need to recharge, we opted to go for a massage. He he...it turned out to be an interesting outing :) Ye lah, try putting 3 friends in a room, half naked...kena massage kuat2 by girls half our age...Nini kata she could hear us kat reception area...ha ha. Oh, Nini tak urut coz dia sensitive...tak boleh di raba eh, silap, I meant urut ;) Yang lagi empat, they had separate rooms separated by kelambu, so I guess more serene environment la :)

That night, we had dinner at Mamak Corner. After mandi, we all congregated at Ije and Nini's suite to see each others purchases. Siap buat a what to buy list for our second trip to Russia & Central market the next day, how to optimise our visit. These girls were like generals discussing strategies et al ;)

Phnom Penh

Day 1 Kul-Phnom Penh.

So excited about the trip... Kus couldn't sleep, Bad siap mimpi mimpi lagi :) We met at LCCT as promised, checked in, did our solat, had lunch, then flew to PP. Time seemed to zoom pass us by as we were having too much fun!

Alhamdulillah, we arrived safely at Holiday Villa. We discovered a small supermarket beside the hotel and a massage place just across the road - very convenient!

First stop - Ton Le Sap riverbank, where the locals lepak, picnic etc. We took the tuk tuk. Did some sightseeing (Royal Palace, something Monument), took pictures - felt high from the new experience or maybe, it was just the dust...he he...Afterwards, We had dinner at Malaysian Restaurant, near Ton Le Sap, recommended by our tuk tuk driver. Sedap!! Actually, there were 2 halal restaurants facing each other. Kus pilih the restaurant just because budak tu can cakap melayu :)

Balik hotel, after showering, we all get together for some bonding time. We swapped stories, makan ice cream dengan roti. Ada orang tu, sapu ice cream macam sapu butter...hint hint: ratu sopan... ;) So, Kus terpaksa tunjuk cara yang betul..ha ha.Topics covered...macam-macam...dan rahsia... ;)

OGA Bowling Tournament 2007

1st July 2007. Sunday morning - everyone turned up in their special polo t-shirt. After a number of pull outs (including reserve players)due to unforeseen circumstances, and a number of desperate calls on Saturday to find replacement,Ha answered our SOS call, although she said the last time she bowled was before kahwin :)

Final line up: Setoet 1 - Id, Tatee, Jizi and Maria Razak, Setoet 2 - Mala, Weina, NN and Nini (yes!! Nini...he he). Reserve - Ha.

It was a fun event. There were 14 teams. Many were from the 80's, with only two teams from the 70's and I think another two teams from the 90's. Jizi was kind enough to wake up early and made us sandwiches. And, Mala had cupcakes done up with our names on them. Really cute! Nanti photos, either Mala or Ha will upload.

Secret revealed! After watching Jizi lovingly "lap" her ball, we all also lap our balls. And voila! we hit more pins! This is especially true for Id....strikes and spares were the order of the day...serious...don't play play...

Results: 6th place and 13th place.

Thank you girls for being sporting..he he. Seronok get together-gether ni... :)
