1986 ~ ~ ~ ~ 2006
2006 - 20 years later....... At our 20th year reunion

1986 - 20 years back..........At our TKC Annual Dinner
That day, the 20th year reunion
20th year Reunion TKC Batch 82-86 @ Impiana KLCC Hotel & Spa
We were told by our seniors that 20 years is a milestone worth celebrating. Yes! We totally, totally agree. Our last ‘big’ reunion was in 1996 – our 10th year reunion. Discussions in our egroup about the reunion started back in 2005. It was just talk…until the PGKs took over in January 2006. Huh!? What’s PGK? Perempuan Gila Kuasa…:)
The preparation. The organizing committee was led by Juju and Tina (ultimate PGKs), and the rest who were ‘ordered’ to help out were Hafidah, Tatee, Mala, Ije, Sharif, Ana Sani, Badrina and Nani Aziz. Many meetings and brainstorming sessions were held at Tina’s apartment and they were memorable because food seemed to be the focal point (ahak!). The final meeting was held the day before the reunion where several other girls came to assist us with the packing of the door gifts. We aimed for at least ¾ of the batch – 80 and we achieved it. The following narration is from one of the old girls, Dr Zalwani Zainuddin, who flew down from Penang for the reunion:
30th April 2006 ~ The Day. As promised, I will try to give you the sordid details of our reunion. Bear with me coz it will be rather long as I don’t think I can summarize such a memorable day with just few words. My day started very early on 30th ApriI. I woke up at 4.20am (went to bed at 2.30am as still was sewing the last of the damn manik and labuci at 2.00am!!!) to make sure that I got to the airport on time, to join the rest of the northern girls for the early flight to KL.
Upon arrival at the hotel, the manusia yang jaga pintu terus kata “kakak2 reunion kat tingkat 2 ya...”. And as soon as we stepped out of the elevator we heard the commotion ...we walked to the hall and there we saw the source of the noise....sitting in a pretty row were the PGK's trying very hard to get us registered ourselves (“Woi you all...tolonnnnggg la register dulu”) while many of the girls were jumping screaming and hugging each other....You just can imagine the level
of noise we made...nasib tak kena apa-apa tindakan from hotel management!
Ana and Sharif were quite awesome emcees...from this time onwards I cannot give you the exact details anymore as I was too busy laughing and greeting others. We had to go onstage and introduced ourselves and then I think we had a break for prayer. To tell you the truth most of the girls looked not a day older since we last saw them. All of them were the same girls that we used to know (no matter how successful they have become now).....and if I had known before hand that the girls I would be meeting were exactly those sweet girls I knew before I would have tossed all my maniks and labucis in the toilet bowls and wore the most comfortable yellow T-Shirt!!
Then we had the house performances....we yellow house girls sang two songs (lupa title pulak dah...'why do birds suddenly appear everytime you are here' and 'when the rhythm starts to play sing with me make me sway' or something like that....). The green house girls came up with an impromptu fashion show, which they deserved to have anyway!! They appeared very nice indeed with all the brilliant green hues ranging from apple green to moss green. The blue house girls were the most prepared....elaborate presentation, spoofing Malaysia’s Most Beautiful TV show with their own version of Miss Sopan Santun 2006 (siap with video clips of interviews with participants lagi). Red house girls performed a mini drama…(ingat depa nyanyi lagu 'aci-aci bukak pintu nana balik pukul satu' and ada manusia sembunyi belakang tirai and buat bunyi hantu...he he). After that we had Ida reading us a sajak Cerita Kita that managed to make a few cry….
We also had awards for Most Changed, Most Unchanged, Most Kids, Most Available, Youngest Grandma, Best Dressed, House and Class with highest attendance and Best House Show. Sadly we had to evacuate the room at 6pm.
Anyway I never had so much fun in a day...the next day I had a headache and had to sleep the day off.....mungkin gelak banyak sangat kot sampai otak bergoncang!!! To summarize it all....the girls are the same girls and friends we use to know...nothing have changed despite the 20 years that had passed by and I feel like kicking myself for wasting those 20 years. Imagine the time lost and friendships denied...... Ajal maut ditangan tuhan but I will make an extra effort to stay in touch with them from now onwards.
Last notes. We would like to thank all the committee members for their assistance and effort, especially Tina, Mala & Ije for painstakingly collating all the contact details for our batch & collecting the money). Thank you too to all the sponsors of the door gifts: Gina Arifin, Tina, Dilla, and Raja Badrina and also the sponsors of some of the awards, the girls who also contributed their time packing the door gifts. But most of all – a very big thank you to all of you who attended. It made our effort worthwhile.

Tkcoga Reach Out Dinner

20 May 2006 ~ There were 15 from our batch who attended the dinner. Overall, it was a fun night. Siap boley ronggeng kejap after that :) Bob Tutopoli was the main entertainer for the night...time mak bapak kite tu... So, many were going like...hmm... (Oklah I confess, I enjoyed his songs coz it brought fond memories of my childhood, esp Widuri). The girls were busy talking...I think the performers for that night had to be exceptionally good for the girls to stop berborak with their friends.

One that came to mind was the Saturday Night Fever dance performed masa starting by the old girls. And the other one was also by old girls - the three platinum blond (wigs of course) super senior kakaks doing a rendition of this ..this..old song...he he...Oh! Yess...our frens of course were dressed to kill, looked very anggun...errr... except for one ;)
ATV - the story bit
We went for the trip on Mother's Day. Nini and Yus (who else??) were supposed to go also but in the end, only the 3 of us yang pergi, together with 2 guys. (Note: kena bawak guys coz senang if got stuck in ditches..and also to start the ATV...he he). BTw, ATV means All Terrain Vehicle, bukan Action TV :)
Of course we all bawak maqanan! Had a quick picnic at the waterfall that has a small pool yg you can swim in. We all of course tak swim...pemalu...he he.
Had lotsa fun despite sakit-sakit badan/tangan/lengan and kena gigit nyamuk. Orang town le katakan... :))
Kat that place you can also play paintball. Nantilah one day, we'll organise a "Setoet War".. :)
Bowling Tournament 2006 @ Alamanda
Saturday, 29 July 2006 ~ At last, we had our bowling tournament this morning. There were 23 participants, 15 from our batch. The rest were husbands (2 very brave guys....he he) and children.
I sesat like 20 minutes, call Mala, dia pun tengah sesat :p I tanya 2 lori drivers to get directions to Alamanda :) Anyways, we started the game around 9.30am. Each main dua round. Fin about 11.10am.
So, ini results n

ye:
House with highest average score:
Red 210.25 (4 pax)
Yellow 205.5 (2 pax)
Blue 178.5 (6 pax)
Green 163.62 (3 pax)
Top 5 scorers:

Id 255 (now also known as the Hustler)
Wida 233
Tatee 231
Maria Razak 227
Ije 211
Yang menang Wooden Spoon award...
Nini! (psst...score tak yah bagi lah..he he)
Id almost disqualified sebab sakat Nini. Nini complain dia tak leh concentrate..ha ha ...
Wida punye bola telah dipinjam oleh Ad for the 2nd game. As a result, Ad's score improved. Unfortunately for Wida, her score menurun :D Jihan scored 3 strikes in a row...what do you call that? Turkey ka??
Anyways, itu yang I sempat observe. Ada juga yang dtg bagi moral support. Thank you!

After bowling, we all beramai-ramai convoy ke rumah Turk. Oooh....best makan lunch..sedaap!!! I makan 2 round jugak, macam main bowling..he he. Tapi, I rasa ada yg sampai 3 round kot.
Thank you very much Turk for feeding us :))
I enjoyed the get together very much. The gals were very sporting. Thank you Noni, Id and Mala for organising. Next round ada suggestion buat kat Shah Alam. Bila tu...kena tanya event organiser.
Cerita Kita

Kawan-kawan,
Ingatkah tanggal kita jejak Bukit Merbah
Dengan hati penuh gundah, penuh resah
Kerana dalam helaian hidup kita pada hari itu, di bumi itu,
Terbukalah satu lembaran baru
Kawan-kawan,
Ingatkah tika ayah bonda melambai pergi
Dan kita ditinggalkan mencari identiti
Cuba menyelami hati budi
Insan-insan asing yang tidak kita kenali
Kawanku,
Masihkah kita ingat hari-hari mencari pelangi
Kadangkala kita ketemu tragedi
Ada hari kita bersama tertawa
Ada hari kita sendirian bersendu duka
Ada saat kita suka dan disukai
Ada waktu kita melukakan dan dilukai
Kerana dalam usia muda
Kadangkala kita tidak kenal erti hidup bersaudara
Namun kawanku,
Lima tahun bersama ajar kita makna cinta
Pada sahabat yang lebih akrab daripada saudara seibu sebapa
Kita lebih mengerti hati dan budi insan seangkatan
Kita makin faham keluh kesah seorang rakan
Ketawa kita seiringan
Tangisan kita seperjuangan
Dan memang kita dewasa dalam pingitan
Tetapi kita temui suatu kehidupan
Penuh nilai penuh pengertian
Saudara-saudaraku,
Kini biar dua dekad berlalu
Persis semalam kita bertemu
Dan hari ini kita kembali bersatu
Melunasi dendam rindu yang terbuku
Di hari penuh restu ini
Marilah kita jalin semula kasih yang padu
Mari kita bina memori baru
Dan sebagai tanda syukur yang abadi
Marilah kita panjatkan doa pada Ilahi
Biar rendezvous ini bukan untuk akhir kali.
Noraida Endut
